[Would Fate on me two luckier hours bestow]
FATI VALET HORA BENIGNI.
Would Fate on me two luckier hours bestow,
I'd give 'em to my friend, and to my foe:—
One to embrace the partner of my heart;
And so to meet, as never more to part:—
And one, from him who hates me to retreat;
And so to part,—as never more to meet.
