Game Admission

The newly-formed Student Vouching Committee will begin
operation this Saturday at the Virginia-V.M.I. football game.

The Committee will perform the dual function of giving students
who have forgotten their ID cards quick admittance to the game and
of guarding against the transfer of the cards, which is expressly
forbidden.

Under the new procedure, a student who has neglected to bring his
card to the game will no longer have to purchase a ticket. He needs
only to get another student to vouch for him in the presence of a
member of the Committee, who will be seated at a table near the
main entrance on the student side of Scott Stadium. The Committee
member will take the names of both students and later check them
against a list of students eligible for free admission to games.

Also, when a gate keeper discovers that a person is trying to get
into the game by using someone else's card, the incident will be
reported to the Vouching Committee. The Committee is empowered
to levy penalties for violations of the rule that ID cards are not
transferable.

The Committee was created this summer as an arm of the
judiciary Committee after discussions last Spring with Steve Sebo,
Director of Athletics, and representatives of the Judiciary and Honor
Committees.
