RESIGNATIONS

  • The following resignations were announced:
  • Miss Virginia L. Algyre, Assistant Dean of Admissions and Instructor, General Faculty, effective January 31, 1978, to accept a teaching position in an area high school.
  • Mr. Eugene C. Bell, Associate Professor of Commerce, and Assistant Dean of Continuing Education, effective January 20, 1978, to accept another position.
  • Miss Susan P. Campbell, Assistant Dean of Admissions, effective December 31, 1977, to seek employment elsewhere.
  • Dr. David A. Gehlhoff, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, (Roanoke Program), effective September 30, 1977, to move to South Dakota to work at McKennan Hospital and the University of South Dakota.
  • Miss Denise H. Geolot, Assistant Professor of Nursing, effective December 15, 1977, to accept a position with the Division of Nursing, H.E.W.
  • Dr. Terring W. Heironimus, III, Professor of Anesthesiology, effective February 15, 1978, as he is leaving the area.
  • Mr. Robert L. Kellogg as Chairman, Department of English, effective June 30, 1978, to accept the position as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, effective July 1, 1978.

  • Mr. Donald W. Lemons, Assistant Dean and Assistant Professor of Law, effective January 15, 1978, to enter private practice of law.
  • Dr. Charles W. Miller, Assistant Professor of Orthopedics, effective October 31, 1977, to enter private practice.
  • Mrs. Kathryn J. Payne, Assistant Professor of Nursing, effective January 15, 1978, because of family responsibilities.
  • Mr. Herbert R. Pickett, Assistant Professor, General Faculty, Office of the Registrar, effective November 30, 1977, to accept the position as Treasurer of the University.
  • Mrs. Carolyn T. Rizzetta, Assistant Professor, General Faculty, Alderman Library, effective October 28, 1977, to move to West Virginia and be self-employed.
  • Mr. Paul W. Tremper, Assistant Professor of Education, effective December 31, 1977, to accept the position of Executive Director of the National Community Education Association in Washington, D. C.
  • Mr. John N. Warfield as Chairman, Department of Electrical Engineering, effective May 31, 1978. (Chairmanship only)
  • Mr. Herbert H. Winkler, Associate Professor of Microbiology, effective January 31, 1978, to take position as Professor of Microbiology at University of South Alabama.
