Epig. 24. Leanders Ruine.

While bold Leander, swam as he was wont,
Brushing the billowes of the Helespont,
Thetis her selfe envying faire Heros blisse,
(His Love being sought by the Nereides,
Cymodoce, and sweet Pronea too)
But when she found twas but in vaine to sue,
She beggs of Æolus, and he complies,
To raise a storme, by which Leander dies.
