The Son of the Fader of hevyn blys
Was born as thys day, I will not mys;
Man from thraldom to releve & lose,
Processit ex virgine.

He was born of a virgyn pure,
Not knowyng a man, as I you sure,
But all only by hevynly cure
Processit ex virgine.

Gabryell the angell dyde grett
Mary knelyng in her closett,
Now ys fulfillyd þat sayd the profett:

Man, be glad! thou hast a cavse why
To thanke owr Lord God þat ys on hye:
