The Fox perswades the Cock, to quit his shade,
Since betweene Birds, and Beasts, a truce was made.
But he secur'd amidst the hinder boughs,
Reply'd, I'll first be certaine of your news.

The wise from publick fame no judgments make,
But such as they from righter reasoning take.
