Children of all ages lined the streets Saturday morning to watch the annual Dogwood Festival Parade. Starting about 11 a.m. downtown, the parade along Main Street featured floats of all descriptions, marching units, majorettes, bands and motorcade units. A group of clowns entertained the crowds on the sidelines. Other Charlottesville Dogwood Festival activities last week included a carnival with amusement rides Monday through Saturday at McIntire Park, a parachute exhibition at the park Wednesday afternoon and the Blue Angels, the U.S. Navy precision flight demonstration team, at the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport Saturday afternoon. The Dogwood Festival queen was coronated at the Boar's Head Inn.
