SANSKRIT:

the classical language of India which became the HOLY language of HINDUISM although the earliest HINDU SCRIPTURES such as the G VEDA and many later BHAKTI are not actually written in it. It is also the original language of many early BUDDHIST texts although most of these have preserved in translation only.
