FAB. LXXXII. The Wolf and Crane.

In vaine the tortourd Wolf to all complaine,
Till meeting with the Crane in hope of gaine,
She gives him ease, when asking to be paid
Fond foole cryd he go thank me for thy head.

Morall

Well meaning love is often paid with heat,
And a good natures lost on an ingrate.
