HYMN XX.

[Father, to Thee Thine own we give]

Father, to Thee Thine own we give,
Thy wisdom, power, and goodness praise,
Thy benefits with thanks receive,
And humbly sue for pardoning grace;
Thy mercy and Thy strength implore,
To keep us, that we sin no more.

389

We pray, but with our lips alone,
Till Thou infuse the pure desire,
Till Thou to flesh convert the stone,
The gracious principle inspire;
The supplicating spirit impart,
And bless us with a praying heart.
