SABBATH:
the SACRED day requiring a complete cessation from all work in JUDAISM (both ANCIENT and MODERN) commanded by GOD in Genesis 2:2-3 and seen as part of God's COVENANT with the people of ISRAEL. In CHRISTIANITY the Sabbath became SUNDAY which was to commemorate the RESURRECTION of CHRIST.
