Token System

The token system is a major step towards
transforming Western State from a virtual
prison for the patients to a place where they
can adapt to the requirements for life in open
society. However, because the personnel are
limited, the extent to which this system can be
established is also limited.

There are other possibilities of development
within Western State. Many classes in arts,
music, and even such areas as architecture could
be established if there were people to lead
them. One group is already functioning:
Yakety-Yak, led by Bill Olson, in which five
students and 15 patients get together to chat on
all subjects.
