"Feeble Address"

President Shannon's feeble address to the
marchers Monday evening had driven a number
of students into the more radical camp.
However, the next day, he and the Student
Council still could have restored the strike to its
original course.

In an unusual open meeting in
amphitheater, the Council Tuesday evening
succumbed to the pressure of 250 students at
the meeting and narrowly endorsed the nine
student demands that had been formalized at a
strike meeting that afternoon.
