LEAVES OF ABSENCE

The following resolution was adopted:

  • RESOLVED by The Rector and Visitors of the University of Virginia that the following faculty members be and they are hereby granted leave of absence:
  • Mr. Kenneth G. Elzinga, Assistant Professor of Economics, for one year, effective 1 September 1970, without pay, to serve as Special Economic Assistant to the Assistant Attorney General, Antitrust Division, U. S. Department of Justice.
  • Mr. Michael Garstang, Professor of Environmental Sciences, for one year, effective 1 September 1970, without pay, to complete research projects in Carribean and to visit for one semester at the University of Cape Town, Union of South Africa.
  • Mr. Wesley L. Harris, Sr., Assistant Professor of Aerospace Engineering, for one year, effective 1 September 1970, without pay, to teach at Southern University.
  • Mr. T. Graham Hereford, Professor of Humanities, for one year, effective 1 September 1970, without pay, to accept a position on the staff of the Federal Executive Institute.
  • Mr. Harold H. Kolb, Associate Professor of English, for one year, effective 1 September 1970, without pay, to accept a Guggenheim Fellowship.
  • Mr. Frederick S. Morton, Professor of Business Administration, for one year, effective 1 September 1970, without pay, for personal reasons.
  • Mr. Alan I. Ritter, Assistant Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs, for one semester, effective 1 February 1971, without pay, to carry out research.
