FRAGMENT. IN HIS ITALIAN SKETCH BOOK.
God of my favoured being! Thou hast madeAll things in wisdom. All things sing thy praise,
God of the great Creation! when I raise,
Before the sun and moon, my upturned eyes,
Thee I confess: and, when I drop my sight
Upon the holly's leaf, or bladed grass,
And know that myriads feed along their folds,
In perfect laws according to their kinds,
Their wants, their wishes suited to the scene,
Thee I acknowledge.
