Minority Politics
Course Offered

A new course, Minority Group Politics, is
now open to all undergraduate students except
first-year men.

The course is being taught by Stan Makieski
of the Government and Foreign Affairs
Department. This course was not included in
the student subject manual as it wasn't decided
upon until August.

Currently containing 35 to 40 students, this
course can accommodate up to 100 students.
Approximately one third of the course will deal
with blacks, students, and women, but other
minority groups such as the American Indian,
Jews and Italians will also be included.

This course will discuss the bas of minority
group politics. How the groups gain access to
office and the following response will also be
discussed. One of the books being used is
"Beyond the Meting Pot," by Gazer and
Maugham. This course meets on Tuesday and
Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in 138 Cabell Hall.
