GOOD-NIGHT!

Good-night, my sweet one, sleep attend you,
And bear you into dreamland on his wings,
Into a mist of soft sights send you,
Where not a single bird there is but sings,
Happiness higher than the day's is lend you,
And eyes that revel in the midst of things,
From which, alas! the light will rend you
In spite of memory that backward clings.
