[Dydo am I, the fownder first of Cartage]

Dydo am I, the fownder first of Cartage,
That as thou seyst my nowne deth do procuer
To saue my fayth, and for no new loues rage
To fley Iarbes, and kepe my promes suer.
But se fortune, that wold in nother age
Myne honest wyll in perfayte blisse assuer;
For while I lyuyd, she made my day short;
And now with Lyes my shame she doth report.
