FAB. LXXI. The Young Man and his Cat.

A Youth in Love with Puss, to Venus prayd
To change the useless Beauty to a maid,
Venus consents, but in the height of Charmes
A Mouse she cry'd, and leaves his ravisht armes.

Morall

Ill principles no mercy can reclaime,
And once a Rebell still will be the same.
