Mercer and DeWitt.
No recent visitor to the University has
made more friends or has exerted a
stronger influence for manly uplift
among the men of the College than Edward
C. Mercer. A student here some
fifteen years ago, he subsequently ran a
wide gamut of experiences; but finally
came out a man stronger himself and
able to help other men. His work in
New York City is given to the deepest
needs of humanity; and the week spent
here at the opening of the session, in
company with W. A. DeWitt of Yale,
will be remembered with pleasure and
gratitude by dozens of men.
