HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
“A vessel unto honour, sanctified and meet for the Master's use.”—2 Tim. ii. 21.
Oh how should those be clean, who bear
The vessels of the Lord!
How should those give themselves to prayer,
Who minister His word!
Cleanse me, O Lord! my head, my feet,
And a pure heart induce;
That I may be a vessel meet
For Thy most holy use.
Oh may the beamings of Thy grace,
Reflected on my mien,
When called a sinful world to face,
Shew where my soul has been.
Then shall I not be greatly moved
By envy or applause;
Content to be by Thee approved,
And glorying in thy cause.
