Heir lyis that godly, noble, wyse, Lord Boyd,Quha Kirk, the King, and Commounweill decorde;
Quhilks war, vhill they this jeuell all injoyd,
Defendit, counseld, governd be that lord.
His ancient hous, oft perreld, he restord.
Tuyse sax and saxtie ȝeirs he livd; and syne,
By death, the thrid of Januar, devord,
In anno thryse fyve hundreth auchtie nyne.
