The wars of Thebes your muse employ;His muse the deathless wars of Troy;
Wars of my own employ my muse,
Wars! where I no mercy meet!
Wars where my destroyers use,
Neither horse, nor foot, nor fleet!
Nor any arms to gain their prize!
Not any arms, but those of eyes.
