O hours of Yale—vanished hours!Memory, sorrowfully singing,
Makes a far-off sound, like ringing
Of a chime of silver bells,
Whose soft music sinks and swells,

Fainter, sweeter fragrance bringing
Than from odorous island-dells,
Kissed all night by summer showers.
