Extended Debate
The move came after two
months of debate between the
Committee and the Inter-Fraternity
Council on the feasibility of the
requirement for the sprinkler
systems, with the main argument
centering around the cost and the
fact that all houses with three
floors have fire escapes.
Ed Hayes, president of the IFC,
stated, "I think it was very
unfortunate that the ruling was
made at all, but I am pleased that
the Housing Committee has
reconsidered its decision."
