ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS
- The following resolution was adopted:
RESOLVED that the actions relating to chairholders be and they are hereby approved as shown below: (a) Correction in the Effective Date of the
Election of Mr. Irving I. Gottesman- Mr. Irving I. Gottesman as Commonwealth Professor of Psychology, effective July 1, 1985.
(b) Re-election of Chairholder
- Mr. Herbert Hausmaninger as John A. Ewald, Jr., Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law, for the period September 1, 1985, through October 31, 1985.
(c) Leaves of Absence of Chairholders
- Mr. James S. McCarthy, W. L. Lyons Brown Professor of Physics, for the period September 1, 1985 through May 31, 1986, without pay, to work with CEBAF.
- Mr. Leland B. Yeager, Paul Goodloe McIntire Professor of Economics, for the period September 1, 1985, through May 31, 1986, without pay, to continue teaching at Auburn University.
(d) Changes of Title of Chairholders
- Mr. Shao-Chuan Leng, from Henry L. and Grace Doherty Charitable Foundation Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs to Dorothy Danforth Compton Professor of Government and Foreign Affairs, effective September 1, 1985.
- Mr. Richard A. Merrill, from Daniel Caplin Professor of Law to Arnold H. Leon Professor of Law, for three years, effective July 1, 1985.
(e) Death of a Chairholder
- Mr. Irvin, Ehrenpreis, Linden Kent Memorial Professor of English Literature, died July 3, 1985. He had been a member of the faculty since February 1, 1965.
