48. Ca. Germanici Augusti Epigramma de Puero Thracensi.

A Thracian Boy on frozen Hebrus plai'd,
Till with his weight a breach i'th Ice he made,
Which from his body cut his tender head,
The rest being by the Waters swallowed.
His Mother sigh'd (bestowing 't in an Urne)
That I brought forth for waters, this to burn.
