ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS

  • The following resolution was adopted:
    RESOLVED that the actions relating to chairholders be and they are hereby approved as shown below:

  • (a) Elections of Chaired Professors

  • Mr. Edward J. Logue as Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation Professor of Architecture, for the period February 16, 1985 through April 12, 1985.
  • Mr. Richard W. McEnally as Arthur J. Morris Visiting Professor of Commerce, for one semester, effective January 16, 1986.
  • Mr. Richard L. Rubenstein as Edgar M. Bronfman Visiting Professor of Modern Judaic Studies, effective September 1, 1985, for one semester.
  • Dr. David D. Stone as Distinguished Professor of Internal Medicine, effective July 1, 1985.
  • Mr. Robert L. Wilken as Commonwealth Professor of the History of Christianity, effective September 1, 1985.
  • (b) Re-election of Chaired Professor

  • Mr. Walter J. Wadlington, III, James Madison Professor of Law, and Professor of Legal Medicine, School of Medicine, for three years, effective July 1, 1985.

  • (c) Retirements of Chaired Professors

  • Dr. Harold Carron, Distinguished Professor of Anesthesiology, effective December 31, 1984. He has been a member of the faculty since August 17, 1970.
  • Mr. Edwin S. Cohen, Joseph M. Hartfield Professor of Law, effective May 31, 1985. He has been a member of the faculty since September 1, 1963.
  • Mr. Frank W. Finger, alumni Professor of Psychology, effective May 31, 1985. He has been a member of the faculty since March 1, 1942.
  • Mr. Emerson G. Spies, Mary and Daniel Loughran Professor of Law, effective May 31, 1985. He has been a member of the faculty since April 1, 1946.
  • Mr. David Thompson, Frank S. Kaulback, Jr., Professor of Commerce, effective May 31, 1985. He has been a member of the faculty since September 1, 1976.
