(42) Cardinge.
Kate is a good huswife, as all men saye,for shee doth nought but card all the longe daie,
whoe in continuall carding hath such delight,
that, besides the daie, she will card in the night.
73
and when she playes she is cardinge allwaies.
Yet by her carding she hath little winninge,
for of her carding never com[e]th spinninge;
Soe she is a huswife, but noe good huswife, I trowe,
for of good huswifes cardinge, spinning doth growe.
