XLVI.

If now my father claims thee, is it well?
If well for him, is it then ill for me?
—Nay, surely golden flower and purple sea
And emerald hill-side have their tale to tell?
If now in heaven more dazzling flowers
Await her gaze, yet many a lovely sight
On this old earth was ours:
Fair sunlit morns, and many a moonlit night.
