KUMRAJVA (344-413):
although the exact details of his life appear uncertain he was a Indian BUDDHISM MONK kidnapped by Chinese raiders when he was about 40. He spent the rest of his life in China where he became an important translator of BUDDHIST literature and EVANGELIST for BUDDHISM. It was largely through his efforts that Buddhism developed in China where it came to be regarded as an equal PHILOSOPHY with TAOISM and CONFUCIANISM.
