CLVIII. Sancta Maria, ora pro nobis.

O meke Hester so mylde of mynde,Thatte hast fownde grace for alle mankynde
Of god, thatt we mercy may fynde,
Ora pro nobis.

O stronge Iudith, thatte of dydde smyghtThe hede of Holoferne, thatte knyght,
Thatte we may putte the fende to flight,
Ora pro nobis.

O closyd gate, throughe whiche aloneIhesus didde passe and othere none,
To Crist, thy sone, sittyng in trone
Ora pro nobis.

O Iesse yerde, the whiche didde flowreAnd bare the fruyte of alle honowre,
That Crist defende us fro dolowre,
Ora pro nobis.
5
To god, that is of myghtis most,Fadere and sone and holigost,
So thatte for syn we be not lost,
Ora pro nobis.
