THE THREE GIVERS
England gave me sun and storm,
The food whereon my spirit throve;
America gave me hand-grasps warm,
And Ireland gave me her I love.
The food whereon my spirit throve;
America gave me hand-grasps warm,
And Ireland gave me her I love.
Heirs of unequal wealth they are,
These lands of fame, these givers three;
And it was the poorest one by far,
That gave the richest gift to me.
These lands of fame, these givers three;
And it was the poorest one by far,
That gave the richest gift to me.
