IMPROMPTU: On reading an Order of the Corporation of Albany ordering all the Dogs in the City to be killed.

'Tis done! the dreadful sentence is decreed!
The town is mad, and all the dogs must bleed!
Ah me! what boots it that the dogs are slain,
Since the whole race of puppies yet remain!
