Position Statement

J. Harvie Wilkinson III, after he
announced his candidacy for a seat in the
U.S. House of Representatives, made the
following remarks to The Cavalier Daily
concerning his future involvement and
interests in the Board of Visitors and the
University in general.

"I don't expect this [his candidacy] to
affect my participation in the Board of
Visitors. I will continue to spend a good
deal of time at the University. I have been
here for two years and I am interested in
student views, and I will continue to be
interested in the University and its
students."
