Two Students

The letter asked the Dean to
put two representative students
on the faculty's curriculum review
committee.

Mr. Bosserman answered this
request saying that he had no
authority to put the students on
the committee, but that the teachers
themselves did. He went on
to suggest an alternate plan in
which the objectives of the proposal
may best be obtained by
the creation of a small joint faculty-student
committee to act
in an advisory capacity to the
faculty Curriculum Review Committee.

The students felt that a better
solution could be obtained and
the Wednesday night meeting
was called to formulate what
this better solution might be.

The Council moved at this
meeting that the faculty meet in
toto to discuss the possibilities
of placing representative students
on the faculty committee.
The faculty responded and unanimously
agreed to meet last
night to discuss just these possibilities.
The meeting was sanctioned
by Dean Bosserman and
he agreed to attend.

The letter expressed concern
about specific Architecture
courses such as the Thesis Program,
the mechanics courses, the
statics course, and the design
programs.

The matters were all discussed
at Wednesday evening's meeting,
but it was decided to let action
be taken through the channels
described in the resolution
adopted.

In a separate action also related
at the Council meeting, the
40 students in the third-year
class expressed their dissatisfaction
with several architecture
courses by deciding not to preregister
for two mechanics
courses.
