She added that this policy was
in line with a growing trend on
the part of colleges and universities
to reject their "parental"
function. "The student is increasingly
'on his own,' " she said.

Taking this initiative, a majority
of the women in Mary Munford
Dormitory voted for the
changes in the social regulations.

"It cannot be overemphasized
that the success of these new regulations
depends on the cooperation
and responsibility of every
resident," stated the report of the
Dorm Committee. "For the first
few months, or until their feasibility
is established, these regulations
will be on an experimental
basis."

The Student Council of McKim
Hall will discuss their rule
changes Monday night.
