ACTIONS RELATING TO CHAIRHOLDERS

The following resolution was adopted:

• RESOLVED that the actions relating to chairholders be and they are hereby approved as shown below:
• (a) Elections
• Dr. John Buckman as Alumni Professor of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, effective January 1, 1984.
• Mr. James S. McCarthy as W. L. Lyons Brown Professor of Physics, effective September 1, 1984.
• Dr. Robert R. Wagner as Marion McNulty Weaver and Malvin C. Weaver Professor of Oncology and Professor of Microbiology, effective January 1, 1984.
• (b) Re-election
• Ms. Mary D. Ainsworth as Commonwealth Professor of Psychology and Professor of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry, for one year, effective July 1, 1983.
• (c) Leaves of Absence
• Mr. Roland N. McKean, Paul Goodloe McIntire Professor of Economics, for one semester, effective January 16, 1984, to do research.
• Mr. Daniel J. Meador, James Monroe Professor of Law, for one semester, effective September 2, 1983, to study in the German Democratic Republic.

• Mr. Victor W. Turner, William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of Anthropology and Religious Studies, died December 19, 1983. He had been a member of the faculty since 1977.
