More than just sounds are promised for Friday night "when The Band starts playing" at University Hall. Showtime is 8 p.m. and lighting requirements, says John Bakhaus of PK-German Society, are the most complicated of any ever arranged for a concert produced here. The wide range of material which The Band handles with seeming ease is certain to give Midwinters 1970 a fitting kickoff. The group's road manager boasts one of the finest sound systems in the United States. Tickets are going for $3.25 at the usual places.
