APPROVAL OF AMENDMENTS TO THE MANUAL
- The Manual provides in Section 5.9 that amendments
to The Manual may be made at any regular meeting by a majority vote
of all of the members of the Board provided that the proposed
amendments are included in the notice of the meeting and that the
views of the Executive Committee are submitted to the Board. Notice
of the following proposed amendments was duly given, along with the
statement that the Executive Committee views with favor the amendments
set forth in the following resolution:
RESOLVED that the following amendments to The Manual be and they are hereby made: - A. Introduction to Chapter 4, page 15, shall be
changed to read:
"The Officers of the Board shall consist of the Rector of the University of Virginia, the President of the University, the Comptroller of the University, the General Counsel of the University, and the Secretary and Assistant Secretary to the Board of Visitors." - B. Section 4.6 shall be changed to read "General Counsel of the University".
- C. Section 4.61 shall be changed to read as follows:
"On nomination of the President, the Board shall elect a General Counsel of the University to serve at its pleasure." - D. Section 4.62 shall be changed to read as follows:
"As the chief legal officer of the University, the General Counsel shall advise the Board and the President, under whose immediate direction he shall be, on all legal matters affecting the University. He shall perform such other duties as may be assigned to him by the Board or the President."
