Missionary

"I doubt that any of them
would say that I tried to talk
them into my faith."

Yet, he insists that it is not
enough for the Christian to
hope that his life alone will
show what God has done in
their lives. Rationalizing
evangelism, he said, "If you
don't tell people why you act
the way you act, they'll think
you're just a nice person from
Middle America."

Chuck, like Don, will be
returning to Africa when he
completes his work, but he will
leave his mark on those he has
worked with. Probably because
he hasn't been pushy, he has
helped to change the
missionary stereotype. He is
not a religious snob. "I think
true Christian sharing is
nose-to-nose, not looking down
on anyone."
