BOMB THREATS END
AS CABELL HALL BLOWS

"Thar she blows" shouted
Chief of Security Rhett R.
Kneck as Cabell Hall finally blew
up after repeated threats by the
University's "Mad Bomber" in
residence over the past few years.

The photo shows security officers
removing students from Cabell Hall
seconds before it exploded and some
two hours after the Security
Department was notified that there
was a bomb in Cabell Hall. "We
waited so long," explained officer
Kneck, "because we didn't think who
called was serious. After all we get
these calls pretty often and we never
found a bomb in Cabell Hall yet."

A student who watched the
building blow up commented, "I'm
glad someone finally had the nerve
to blow the damn thing up. I'm sick
of coming over here for class and
have it cancelled because of some
phony bomb threat."

Arab guerrillas in Cairo, Egypt,
immediately took credit for the
bombing, after the Israeli government
said it had wished it had thought of
it.

University officials said the now
vacant space would either be turned
into a private parking lot, or sold to
Frank Kessler whose "Cavalier
Caveman" suffered a somewhat similar
fate several years ago.
