Seven Society
Presents Award
To Guide Service

The University Guide Service
has been selected as the recipient of
the Seven Society's organizations
award.

This award, first announced at
Finals Day exercises last year, is
"presented annually to that organization
which through its own
initiative, resourcefulness and energetic
activity has made significant
strides toward a more meaningful
University.

In a letter to The Cavalier Daily,
the Seven Society cited its reasons
for the selection of the Guide
Service for this award: "a significant
growth in membership; a
notable increase in their regular
program of guided tours; their aid
to the Office of Admissions by the
implementation of special tours for
prospective students; their schedule
of excellent historical displays; and
their continued efforts toward the
restoration of the Rotunda to Mr.
Jefferson's original design."
