Split End Dave Sullivan Continues To Lead ACC Receivers

In the latest release of ACC
statistics, league leader North
Carolina (2-0) is without a
single leader in the individual
statistics. Tar Heel backs have
rushed, however, for the league
lead in both rushing and punt
returns.

Virginia's Dave Sullivan has
virtually wrapped up the
league's receiving crown.
Sullivan's 34 receptions
provide a comfortable margin
over the 22 of N.C. State's
Mike Kenny.

Blue Devil Steve Jones
continues to lead the infantry
with a 91.2 yard per game
average in rushing. He is
followed by Wahoo Kent
Merritt's 75.6 average.

Al Neville of Maryland was
shot down last weekend while
still leading in the league's air
attack statistics. Neville, who
has completed nearly 56 per
cent of his passes this year, will
miss the remainder of the
season with a broken
collarbone.

Interestingly enough,
Virginia's Harrison Davis and
George Allen Jr. rank third and
fourth respectively in the
passing category. Scott
Gardner, the newly discovered
Wahoo offensive sensation,
ranks 11th.
