Wally Walker, starting 6-6
forward for the Cavalier varsity
basketball team, was selected
Monday as the Rookie of the
Week in the Atlantic Coast
Conference.

The selection was made
following two outstanding
performances in one Wahoo
win and one loss. In the big
upset over North Carolina at
Chapel Hill Walker hit on 12
of 13 shots from the floor and
gathered in 10 rebounds.

In the heartbreaking loss to
Clemson last Saturday, his
percentage was down, but he
still hit for 16 points and
controlled 12 rebounds.

Walker is just now warming
up after a slow start due to a
foot injury and is now scoring
and rebounding at a 14.0 and
5.6 per game clip, respectively.
His field goal percentage is an
amazing 70 per cent.
