ReMine Sets
Diving Mark

As far as natatoriums go, the
Memorial Gym basin is just not a
diver's paradise; but Steve ReMine, a
third-year man, overcame the surroundings
and broke his own record
in the one-meter dive with a total
of 217.95 points.

Whether or not it was the
pulchritudinous timers the stirring
chords of the Pep Band, or the
rather large opening meet crowd
that served as inspiration, ReMine's
performance was impressive.

ReMine offered a well-balanced
program to help pulverize the
Georgetown Hoyas, 87-15, in the
first swimming meet of the season
for Virginia.

A forward lay-out, inward and
back one and one half, and a
reverse one and one half highlighted
his record-breaking performance,
ReMine practices mainly on his
own, and Coach Ron Good pictures
his diver as "right up there" in ACC
competition.
