Lawrence Recruits All—Met
Pass Receiver From Annandale

By BILL BERNO

Coach Don Lawrence
continues to shine on the
football recruiting trail,
announcing Monday the
signing of highly sought-after
wide receiver Tom Fadden.

Fadden, a 5-8, 155-pounder,
is from Annandale, Va. He was
one of the offensive guns
responsible for taking the
Annandale Atoms to the
Virginia AAA championship.

Fadden piled up
high-powered statistics, and
garnered berths on the All-Metropolitan
and All-State first
teams. The speedster was
elusive enough to shake loose
for 68 catches in 13 games this
season. He averaged 110.7
yards per game in receptions
and caught 10 touchdown
passes.

Fadden was a devastating
punt returner, running back 15
kicks for 220 yards and one
touchdown. His 1659
all-purpose yards came on an
average of 20 yards every time
he touched the ball.

Mr. Lawrence has now
captured 14 in-state recruits,
and has done a pretty good job
of filling the holes left by
graduation.

Speaking on Fadden's
signing, Mr. Lawrence said,
"We are very pleased that Tom
will continue his athletic and
academic careers with us."

"He is an outstanding
prospect, and can really help
us, especially since we are
losing two outstanding
receivers in Dave Sullivan and
Chuck Belic." Sullivan and
Belic were the top receivers in
the ACC last season.
