Book Analyzes Strike

Three third-year students at
the University have recently
compiled a pictorial booklet
entitled "May Days-Crisis In
Confrontation," dealing with
the University-wide strike of
last May.

Literary Editor Rob Buford,
Format Editor, Peter
Shea, and Photography Editor,
Andy Stickney, worked
throughout the summer organizing
the material they had
collected during the strike. The
48 page booklet, containing
130 pictures, relates the events
and much of the drama surrounding
the May Strike.

The authors, all of whom
are staff members of The Cavalier
Daily, decided soon after
the Maury Hall take-over to
write a book describing the
student activities taking place
throughout May. "There was
so much confusion and misunderstanding
surrounding the
strike that we hoped to clear
much of it up by writing our
book," said one of the authors.

Of the 2000 books already
printed, slightly over 1000
have already been sold, according
to Mr. Buford. May Days
may be purchased at the Corner,
or in Newcomb Hall.
