Weekends Provide Break
From Tiresome Studies

Ball, Finals Weekend, and many
individual fraternity parties.

Studies Forgotten

Often the PK-German Dance
Societies and the University Union
invite groups to the Grounds for no
other reason except to provide a
much needed relief from the daily
drudgery of getting educated. Last
year Peter, Paul, and Mary came to
help start the second semester with
a concert in University Hall.
Tensions just before the final exams
last June were somewhat relieved
by the Fifth Dimension with their
concert on the Lawn.

Usual Agenda

The Big Weekend begins with
the making of arrangements for the
dates many months before,
followed by the tinge of
anticipation in the air as the last
Friday class draws to a close. About
mid-day girls start to arrive by bus,
car, taxi, airplane, and train-girls
from the countless women's
colleges along the eastern seaboard
and some from beyond. They are
closely followed by the many
hard-rock or soul groups playing at
the various fraternities. The main
sports events usually follow on
Saturday afternoons with evening
concerts following.

By Sunday afternoon, except
for Easters Weekend when the
parties linger on into the late
afternoon, the tired dates straggle
back to the bus stations and the
weary Wahoos return to still
another round of books and sweat.
