Intramural Softball Games Start Today
Intramural summer
softball league teams begin
play today at four o'clock at
Memorial Gym field. Games
will be held at 4, 5, 6 and 7 p.m.
today and tomorrow of this
week and at the same times
again on Monday and Thursday
of next week.
Starting Monday, July 9,
games will be held at these
same times but on Monday
through Thursday of the week.
Tuesday, July 24, is to
be the last day of regular
season play. On the following
day, Wednesday, July 25, the
season ending single
elimination tournament will
begin. All teams regardless of
their season record will be
eligible to compete in the
tournament, according to the
I.M. department.
A number of special
rules have been set down by
the I.M. department for the
summer intramurals. There will
be a one hour time limit on all
games unless teams are tied.
However, if the home team is
leading by 10 or more runs
after 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 innings,
the game is called.(The home
team is determined by a flip of
the coin at the beginning of the
game.)
Seven innings constitute
a regulation game unless time is
involved or the 10 run rule is in
effect. All games will be slow
pitch. Although shoes must be
worn no cleats are allowed by
the I.M. department.
